Sew Fine Thread Gloss
This listing is for one 0.5oz pot of Sew Fine Thread Gloss. Be sure to choose your favourite fragrance from above!
No more tangled, knotted or static-y threads while you're hand-sewing!
As a kid, did you ever come across your granny's sewing kit and wonder why there was a gnarly chunk of beeswax in there? Well, your gran was/is a smart woman. For generations, sewists and tailors everywhere have been using beeswax as a natural thread conditioner to give them smooth and tangle-free quilting and hand-stitching. It also helps to provide additional strength to natural threads such as cotton and silk, as well as helps to prevent thread fraying.
Sew Fine Thread Gloss is made with locally sourced beeswax that has NOT been chemically processed. It is handmade in a variety of scents (as well as a natural beeswax/honey scent) in small batches just outside Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is a natural light amber colour (as it should be) - those white beeswaxes have been bleached or have had clay added to make it white. The beeswax that is sourced is one step away from the hive - filtered once to separate it from the honey and any leftover hive particles.
To use: thread your needle and lay the thread close to the needle on the thread gloss. Using your thumb, put light pressure on the thread while you pull the thread along the top of the thread gloss. One or two light pulls should be plenty! Knot your thread and start stitching!
** Please note: during the summer season, if your mail is delivered in a way that it would be left out in the sun, or left in a hot mailbox, please let me know, and I will mark the envelope to be picked up at your local post office. We are not responsible for package delivery.
